Damn. I missed out on the Porshe!
Been programming for 25 years and managed to stay employed thru the up and down.
In the new flatter world, you have to offer something that is better than the next guy whether he/she is in is Silicon Valley or India. Maybe that means more than just tech skills.
It obviously means being either ahead of or at least at the curve with regards to tech skills and specializing. I tried to learn a little of everything and decided nobody wants someone who is mediocre at many things. Everyone is looking for an expert.
Hard to do that and have a life too.
